Coach Preston LeJeune is currently beginning his 33rd year at ED White High School. He was name Athletic Director in 1992. Before then, Coach LeJeune has been the head coach of varsity football, the golf team, and the tennis team. He was also the assistant coach to the baseball team.
Coach LeJeune’s overall record in football is 181-82-1, a 68.8% winning percentage. He coached the 1982, 1984, 1990 and 1992 Cardinal football teams to undefeated seasons. His teams won championships 17 out of 23 years. (The 1978 team was tri-district champion and missed going because only two from the district entered the playoffs. ED White lost out on point differential.) Coach Lejeune’s teams won District Championships 11 times, was State Finalist in 1981, was Semi-Finalist in 1882, and were Quarterfinalists in 1986 and 1990.
Coach LeJeune was District Coach of the Year in football 9 times. He coached the boys golf teams to 8 consecutive regional championships, the boys tennis teams to 2 regional championships, and as assistant baseball coach, 2 teams reached the State Finals.
ABOUT ED WHITE ATHLETICS
The ED White Athletic Department fields 43 teams through out the school year and 20 of these teams are varsity sports. Nearly 500 students participate in our sports programs.
The philosophy of the ED White Athletic Department is to compete at the highest level possible while putting the TEAM ahead of the individual. The only individual awards given are the perminate team captains award and the most valuable attitude award.
Our coaching staff is composed of dedicated, hard-working, good christian men and women. They want to be at ED White coaching and working with these athletes. All of our coaches treat their athletes with dignity and respect.
